Are you starting your dropshipping store?
Great! I’ll help you to create a perfect dropshipping store in less than 30 minutes (or maybe not!).
Dropshipping is the first business I’ve started. I need to build an online store to sell products.
But I don’t know how to code? I don’t have enough money to hire a developer. Then I discovered an eCommerce platform called “Shopify”.
Shopify saves my ass!
Again if you’re are beginner, don’t know any coding, build your store with Shopify.
It is the best option.
In this article, I’ll show you the roadmap to create your own dropshipping store using Shopify.
My friend Dan Vas created a superb tutorial. Watch it!
If you like to read go-head then.
Signup for free Shopify account
Go to Shopify.com and click Get Started. You’ll see a popup to fill your details.
Choose any store name for now. You can change it later.
Start your FREE 14-DAY TRIAL.
You’ll see some questions like “Are you already selling?”
Answer them or skip those questions. In the next step, enter your address.
Click to create my store. You’ll see the dashboard of Shopify.
Choose a theme and customize it.
Shopify already gives a default theme called Debut.
You can explore free and paid themes here.
Paid themes consist of extra options to look better.
I recommend you start with a free theme at the beginning. If you want extra options, there are many plugins to choose from.
There are many options to choose from, according to your business. You can find in few websites like Templemonster Themeforest, Athemes, etc.
Don’t worry if you’re not 100% sure you change them later.
After choosing to click on publish.
Customizing your theme:
Paid themes have advanced features. But in every theme, there are standard features like:
- Uploading Logo and Banner
- Changing fonts
- Optimizing product and collection pages.
- Related item functionality
- Colour Schemes
If you need any advanced features which you can’t in your theme. There is a place called Shopify Experts. I’m they will able to help you with anything on Shopify.
Add products to your store.
Especially this tutorial is for dropshipping. You can install an app called Oberlo.
Go to the apps store on Shopify. Search for Oberlo and install it.
Oberlo gives you a free extension to import products from Aliexpress.
You can watch a free tutorial that explains how to use Oberlo.
Select your dropshipping product Import to your store.
If you import your products from Aliexpress, they give shitty descriptions that explain the features of the product.
I recommend you to change the descriptions
When a visitor comes to the product page, your goal is to convert them.
My simple trick is “I’ll explain the benefits of the products”. How does the product going to help the customer?
- Will it solve this problem?
- Will it reduce his pain?
- Will it make his life easier?
Ask these questions to yourself. If you answered, tell them in the product description. If you do this, they are more likely to convert.
Another factor is “High Quality” images and videos.
If your supplier doesn’t have quality images, ask them or purchase that product for yourself to have a small photoshoot.
Add a domain name
Default your domain name is “yourstorename.myshopify.com”. Doesn’t it look professional?
People think this is a spammy website.
It would help if you changed that. You can purchase a custom domain name (like pkjewellery.com) on Shopify for $14/year.
Or you can choose another domain name providers like Godaddy. Maybe this will provide lower prices.
I know some you stuck at choosing your domain name. Go to the domain name generator, type your primary keyword. Find ideas for your business name. Keep in mind, your domain name should be short, easy to remember, and “COM” extension is preferable.
Add shipping methods and payment methods.
Alright, you set up your online store, it looks professional, and people will buy from it.
What’s the next step?
You need to setup Shiping charges and Payment methods.
Go to settings, from your dashboard. Select the option called “Shipping and Delivery”.
You can easily set up domestic and international charges for your products.
I offer free shipping because people convert better when they see Free Shipping.
That’s your choice. Test everything.
In the settings, there is an option called Payments. Click on that
For some countries, Shopify payments which mean Stripe provides charges to your local bank account.
You can also integrate with Paypal and other third-party payment providers.
Get ready to GO LIVE!
You completed the whole setup of your dropshipping store using Shopify.
I’m proud of you.
But there is a problem!
Your online store is password protected.
Means, you can’t sell your products in your 14-day free trial. It would be best if you chose a payment plan.
Its okay starting plan is $29 a month. You can choose that from this link.
Hope you created your dropshipping store using Shopify.
